Our Difference Makers Scholarship recognizes student leaders who combine a passion for community service with a commitment to financial education. By investing in these changemakers, we’re helping build a brighter future for them—and the communities they serve.
Applications for the Third Annual Difference Makers Scholarship opened on October 1, 2025 and closes on April 30, 2026.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a high school senior planning to pursue higher education, including a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or certificate program
- Have completed a volunteer program, either with a nonprofit organization or one they designed themselves
- Have a sponsoring teacher who can support their application

How Students Will Be Judged
Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Impact (25%) – Number of people reached through the volunteer effort
- Time (20%) – Verified volunteer hours
- Scalability (10%) – Ability for others to replicate the program
- Storytelling (20%) – Essay describing the project and nonprofit partner
- Knowledge (15%) – Completion of required Greenlight financial education modules
Awards
- 1st Place: $7,500
- 2nd Place: $4,000
- 3rd Place: $3,000
- Finalists (4th–10th Place): $350 each
- Nonprofit Partners of the Top 10 Students: $350 each
Recognition Event
The top 10 finalists, along with their sponsoring teachers and nonprofit partners, will be honored at a special recognition breakfast celebrating their dedication to service and community impact.
