Checking Account FAQs

  • To unlock key benefits of the Momentum Checking account each month, you only need to meet one of the following requirements:

    • Receive at least $1,000 in electronic deposits, or
    • Complete 15 qualifying debit and/or credit card transactions, or
    • Be 26 years of age or younger

    These requirements are evaluated monthly, and thresholds reset at the start of each new month.

    Benefits tied to meeting these requirements include:

    • Waived $10 monthly maintenance fee
    • Refunds of Trumark out-of-network ATM fees
    • Reimbursement of non-Trumark ATM operator fees up to $5 per month
  • Monthly electronic deposits include funds that are electronically transferred into your account, such as:

    • Payroll direct deposits
    • Government direct deposits
    • ACH transfers
    • Person-to-person (P2P) payments

    Deposits that do not count toward monthly electronic deposit requirements include cash or check deposits, ATM deposits, wire transfers, transfers between Trumark accounts, card transactions, bill payments, or merchant refunds.

  • Yes. Only one Momentum Checking Account is permitted per membership.

  • You can open an account online or in person by choosing the option that fits your needs and completing a quick application.

  • Momentum Checking account holders gain access to Trumark’s High Yield Savings Account by meeting the monthly qualification requirements. Once you satisfy at least one of the criteria—$1,000 in electronic deposits, 15 qualifying transactions, or being age 26 or younger—you are eligible to enjoy the benefits associated with this enhanced savings option.

  • Some accounts may have balance or activity requirements depending on the features and benefits. You can choose the option that best fits how you manage your money.

  • Yes. Every Trumark checking account includes a free Visa® debit card you can use for purchases, ATM withdrawals, and digital payments.

  • Yes. If you have a Momentum or Balance Checking Account you can earn rewards on qualifying purchases made with your Trumark debit card.*

    *Rewards are not available for the Foundational Checking Account. 

  • Members can make surcharge-free withdrawals at any TruMark Financial ATM or at participating STARs ATMs.

    Make withdrawals at any TruMark Financial ATM for no fee. A $2 fee may be charged for each non-TruMark Financial ATM withdrawal depending on your checking account level. An additional $2 fee may be charged for any Non-TruMark Financial ATM where ATM is not a member of the MoneyPass (look for the MoneyPass logo).

    Withdrawals, transfers, and balance inquiries (with or without a funds transfer) at non-TruMark Financial ATMs may be assessed a surcharge or other fee by the ATM owner.

  • Yes, Overdraft Privilege is a value-added service that may help cover transactions when there aren’t enough funds in your checking account. It can protect everyday payments such as one-time debit card purchases, ATM withdrawals, personal checks, and other transactions. There are no monthly or annual fees for this service—you only pay a fee if an overdraft occurs. It’s designed to provide peace of mind and help you avoid the inconvenience of declined transactions.

  • Members can deposit checks anytime, anywhere, using TruMark Financial’s mobile app. Simply take a photo using an Android or Apple mobile device and follow the steps to deposit a check. No visit to a branch or ATM is needed. 

  • Yes. You can add your Trumark debit and credit cards to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay to make secure purchases in stores, in apps, and on the web. Learn more about how to enroll. 

  • Yes. You can manage your account anytime through Trumark’s online banking or the mobile app.

  • Yes. You can pay bills directly through online banking without needing to use multiple platforms.

  • Yes. You can set up real-time alerts to stay informed about transactions, balances, and account activity.

  • Yes. You can lock or unlock your card instantly, receive alerts, and take action right away through online or mobile banking.

  • Electronic deposits include incoming funds posted to your account through electronic channels, such as:

    • Payroll direct deposits
    • Government benefit direct deposits
    • ACH transfers
    • Person-to-person (P2P) payments (e.g., digital payment services)

    The following do not count toward the $1,000 electronic deposit requirement:

    • Cash or check deposits
    • ATM deposits
    • Wire transfers
    • Internal transfers between Trumark accounts
    • Debit or credit card transactions
    • Bill pay payments
    • Merchant refunds
  • Yes, you can set up direct deposit to your account. Simply instruct your employer, government benefactor, or pension plan to deposit your funds directly into your Trumark account – instead of giving you a paper check. Our ABA Routing/Transit number is (236084243).
